Chelsea are considering recalling Scottish midfielder Billy Gilmour in January from his loan spell with Norwich City.
The highly rated youngster was sent to the newly promoted side in order o gain experience of playing first-team football regularly.
However, he has been an unused substitute for the bottom side’s last three league games and now Norwich manager Daniel Farke has said that it is not his job to develop loanees. Instead, his priority is to win points for his team.
The German has also insisted that players who hope to be successful one day need to learn to face tough challenges and be prepared to overcome them.
Now he could find himself back at Stamford Bridge sooner than he had planned, although it is likely that Chelsea would then seek to loan him out again.
The 20-year has been heavily tipped for a bright future, and starred for Scotland in their goalless draw with England at this summer’s Euros.
