Chelsea are ready to bid for Sevilla centre-back Jules Koundé again once the January transfer window opens.
The West London club spent almost the whole of the summer being linked with a move for the French international because, in the end, the Spanish side refused to budge on their £68 million asking price for the 22-year old.
That left the 22-year old frustrated because he was keen on the move for the 22-year old, who was part of the side that won the Nations League final last Sunday.
Now Thomas Tuchel’s side are prepared to reignite their interest in Koundé, but only if Sevilla are willing to lower their asking price.
They are hoping to agree a price of around £45 million for the player, who is under contract with the Spanish side until June 2024.
Whether Sevilla are open to such a price reduction remains to be seen.
