Danish defender Andreas Christensen is close to agreeing a new deal with Chelsea,
He has spent with the Stamford Bridge side since joining them as a teenager back in 2012, and despite at one stage looking like he was being frozen out oof the team under Frank Lampard, he is now an integral part of the back three formation preferred by Thomas Tuchel.
He is in the final year of his current contract in West London and the club are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal, particularly given the uncertainty around one of his regular defensive partners, Antonio Rüdiger.
He is currently away on international duty with Denmark, but has dropped broad hints about his intentions saying “I will not say too much, but I think it looks good. To be at Chelsea.”
Previously reports have suggested that Christensen is in line for a substantial pay increase when, if and, he signs his new deal.
