Chelsea are set to face competition from Juventus to sign midfielder Aurelio Tchouaméni, currently playing for Monaco in Ligue 1.
Manchester United are also reported to be keeping tabs on his situation as well.
Although of Cameroonian descent, Tchouaméni has played for France at every level, receiving his first call-up to the senior national squad last month, and making his debut as a second-half substitute in a World Cup qualifier.
He came through the Bordeaux academy system and made 37 appearances for them in all competitions before joining Monaco on a four and half year deal in January 2020.
He was named Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year last season.
He is valued at €40 million (£35 million) and is regarded by Juventus as a much cheaper option that their main target, former player Paul Pogba, whose wages may prove to be a major sticking point for the Turin side.
