It has emerged that Arsenal made a £34 million bid to sign Marco Asensio form Real Madrid, but it was turned down by the Spanish club.
And Real will be glad they did so now after last week, in his first start of the season, he helped himself to a hat-trick in the 6-1 victory over his former club Real Mallorca.
He has previously been linked with Tottenham and Liverpool, whilst AC Milan have also been among the clubs tracking hs situation.
Real have plenty of forward options at their disposal and attempted to add to them in the summer with their bid to sign Kylian Mbappé.
The club did receive one official bid in the last window and that was from the Gunners, but it was rejected because they still believe that he has a role to play at the Bernabeu this season.
Asensio joined Madrid In 2014, but spent the first two seasons of his spell with them on loan, first with Mallorca and then Espanyol.
