N’Golo Kanté is one of a group of key players, including Mason Mount and Jorginho, that Chelsea are working to get them to sign new deals with the club.
The French World Cup winner’s existing contract runs until June 2023, but they are keen to secure his long-term future at the club.
Since signing from Leicester City in 2016, Kanté has made 222 appearances for the club in all competitions and helped them win the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Champions League, and the Europa League.
He has scored 12 goals for the club, included the deflected effort against Spurs las weekend, when brought on as a half-time sub, he helped swing the match decisively in Chelsea’s favour.
Despite recent struggles with an ankle issue, Kanté is one of the first names on Thomas Tuchel’s team list when fit because of all all-action style and ability to cover all parts of the pitch, and they will hope there are no obstacles to getting him to extend his stay in West London.
