Arsenal have taken several players from Real Madrid in recent seasons.
First Dani Ceballos arrived on loan for one season and impressed enough to return for a second season.
And then Martin Ǿdegaard also arrived on loan, before signing permanently in the summer.
Now comes news that they, along with Tottenham and Liverpool, are interested in a deal for another Real star in the form of Marco Asencio, who is reported to be unsettled at the Bernabeu.
The Spanish international has not started any of Real’s six league games this season under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, and seems to be out of favour under the Italian.
Rated at £35 million, he knows that he needs to be playing first-team football regularly if he wants to force his way back into contention for Spain’s World Cup squad, and now he is ready to try and force his way out of the club, with the player unhappy about his lack of involvement on the pitch.
He did though score a hat-trick for them on Wednesday night as if he had a point to prove.
