Chelsea and Juventus are expected to battle it out to sign French under-21 midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni when the transfer window opens again.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were linked with a move for the Monaco player in the summer, but were not prepared to meet the French club’s £34 million valuation. However, they continued to monitor his progress and are prepared to make him an attractive offer to entice him to Stamford Bridge.
However, the Italian side are ready to offer stiff competition, having made Tchouameni their top transfer target. The Serie A club, though, may have to offload either Aaron Ramsey or Weston McKennie first in order to raise the funds to buy him, whereas Chelsea will have no such constraints
The 21-year old began his career with Bordeaux before joining Monaco in January 2020. He has been capped at every age group by France, and recently made his full international debut in the World Cup qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
