Tiemoué Bakayoko has had his medical with AC Milan and is set to begin a two-year loan deal with an option to buy at the end of it.
The French international midfielder previously spent a season on loan with the Serie A outfit three years ago, but, at that stage, the Italian team were not sufficiently convinced to keep him permanently.
But now it looks like his Chelsea career, that looked so bright, when he was signed from Monaco in 2017 for a fee of £40 million, could finally be over.
He has not featured for the West London side for more than three years. Instead, apart from AC Milan, he has also enjoyed loan spells back at his old club Monaco, and also with Napoli.
It also means that Chelsea have managed to get one more name off their payroll before the closure of this summer’s transfer window.
