Sevilla have warned Chelsea that they are running out of time to sign defender Jules Koundé.
The Champions League winners have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old French international throughout the summer window, but a sticking point has been price.
He has a release clause of £77 million but Chelsea are hoping that the Spanish club will accept a figure closer to £40 million.
However, with the transfer window about to close on Tuesday, things are now getting down to the wire.
In a further complication, the move of Kurt Zouma to West Ham seemed to be in fdanger. Zouma’s departure was meant to clear space in Chelsea’s squad for the arrival of Koundé, but hs transfer was briefly in jeopardy as his medical with the Hammers revealed an unspecified medical issue, before it was announced a deal had been done on Saturday night.
The two Premier League teams agreed a £29.8 million transfer fee for the central defender.
