A disagreement over personal terms is holding up the transfer of Kurt Zouma to West Ham United.
Zouma is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, who are looking to bring in Sevilla’s Jules Koundé.
Chelsea wanted to include him as part of the deal, but Zouma prefers to stay in the Premier League. Tottenham are thought to be monitoring his situation, but his most likely destination is West Ham, who have agreed to meet their rival’s £30 million valuation of the player.
The sticking point, though, is his wages. Zouma currently earns £125,000 a week in West London, and is looking for significant increase for him to move across the City eastwards.
That, though, would easily make him the highest paid player at West Ham, and would potentially upset the harmony of David Moyes’ squad.
Negotiations are continuing between all parties to try to break the impasse in the coming week.
