Martin Ǿdegaard has signed for Arsenal in a permanent deal, leaving Real Madrid for good.
He has agreed a five year deal for a fee believed ot be in the region of £32 million.
It has been a turbulent few months for Ǿdegaard who, spent the second half of the last season at the Emirates, but said his goodbyes to Gunners fans when it looked like he was gong to be reintegrated into the Real squad.
But he struggled for game time pre-season and was left out of the squad for the opening game of La Liga season, with new manager Carlo Ancelotti making it clear that there were several players ahead of him in the pecking order.
He had been Mikel Arteta’s number one transfer target, despite links with James Maddison and Houssem Aouar, and there are hopes he may now be included in the squad to face Chelsea at the weekend., having been double vaccinated
Ǿdegaard had been training by himself in Madrid to minimise the risk that injury could stop any transfer.
