Chelsea are in talks with Lyon about a possible move for full-back Emerson Palmeiri.
Thomas Tuchel wants to decrease the size of his squad before the transfer window shuts, and Palmeiri finds himself third-choice left-back at Stamford Bridge behind Marcos Alonso and Chilwell.
That is despite being part of the successful Italy squad at this summer’s European Championships., and started the final against England after replacing the injured Leonardo Spinazzola
The Ligue 1 club were being linked with a move for PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa but having missed out on him, have switched their attention to Palmeiri, with a fee of around £15 million being negotiated.
The 27-year old cost Chelsea around £18 million when they signed him from Roma in January 2018, but he has struggled to establish himself in West London, and ahs made just 33 Premier League appearances across five seasons.
And with the club now ready to trim their numbers, it now looks as if his time with them is up.
