Juventus will not be signing Italian international midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who is also a target for Arsenal and Liverpool.
The 23-year old was one of the stars as Italy won the Euros last month, and was heavily linked away from his current club Sassuolo.
Although he was a target for the Premier League duo, it was widely assumed that he would be staying in Serie A, with Juventus his most likely destination.
However, with the two Italian club’s struggling to agree a valuation, new Juventus boss Max Allegri has now ruled out a move for Locatelli.’
Instead, he has indicated that Aaron Ramsey will be deployed in a defensive midfield role this season, a reversal of fortunes for the Welshman who was thought likely to leave in the current transfer window.
Now it remains to be seen whether either Premier League club wants to revive their interest in Locatelli.
