Lyon want to sign Tiemoué Bakayoko.
The 26-year old French midfielder has become something of a forgotten man at Chelsea, who he joined for £40 million from Monaco in 2017.
After an imminently forgettable first season in English football, he ahs been loaned out to AC Milan, Monaco and Napoli, but although those agreements included various options to buy, none of the clubs involved chose to exercise them.
Now he is back at Stamford Bridge, where he has just entered the final year of his current deal. Chelsea have offered him a new contract in a bid to protect his value, but Bakayoko has turned that down.
That means that Chelsea will need to sell him this summer or avoiding losing him for free, and, realising there is a potential bargain to be had, that has alerted Lyon to his availability.
Former loanee clubs AC Milan and Napoli are also tracking developments.
