Joe Willock has left Arsenal to join Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old has signed a six year deal with the North-East club and is line to make his permanent debut against West Ham on Sunday.
The Arsenal academy graduate had been Steve Bruce’s main transfer target after his highly impressive loan spell at S. James’s Park in the second half of last season.
He scored eight goals in the Premier League, including seven in successive games, helping them steer away from the shoals of relegation.
The clubs had agreed a fee believed to be around £25 million for him, but negotiations then stalled whilst personal terms were being discussed.
However, the logjam was then broken and now he has left the London club.
The Gunners had originally intended to keep him but, in the end, the money on offer from Newcastle was too good to turn down..
