Martin Ǿdegaard’s potential return to Arsenal is back on again, just days after it looked like it was off the table completely.
Despite being linked with moves for James Maddison and Houssem Aouar, Ǿdegaard has always been top of the Gunners’ shopping list when it comes to finding somebody to provide support to Emile Smith Rowe, after impressing on loan at the Emirates during the second half of last season.
Real Madrid were keen to recall him back to the Spanish capital and hinted that he would be given more game time, now that Carlo Ancelotti has once more taken over the helm.
However, he has not Ǿdegaard featured as much as hoped in pre-season for the Spanish club, and he now has serious concerns about his future in La Liga.
With Real needing funds to ease their financial situation, it is hoped that a deal can finally be done for a player who may cost up to £40 million.
