Arsenal remain in negotiations with Sheffield United about a move for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The Gunners have had two bids for the 23-year old turned down by the South Yorkshire club and there were reports that the deal was about to collapse with the two parties still a long way apart on valuation for the player.
However, now it appears that the North London club are ready to make a third offer for an initial fee of £18 million plus various add-ons which would take the total cost of him to above £25 million.
The Gunners go into the season very light in terms of goalkeeping options apart from number one Bernd Leno. Alex Runarsson, the Iceiandic international signed from Dijon last season has proved that he is out his depth at Premier League level.
And 18-year old Arthur Okonkwo, who has just been promoted to the first-team squad is still very raw at this level.
