Lyon have agreed personal terms with Xherdan Shaqiri.
However, the French side have still to agree a valuation with Liverpool, and negotiations between the two clubs are continuing. It is reported that Lyon’s initial bid for the former Stole City player was £4 million and Liverpool are looking for more than double that.
The 29-year old is in the fianl year of his contract at Anfield, although the Premier League club do have the option of a further year. However, he is looking to play regular frit-team football again after several years of being confined to a cameo role under Jurgen Klopp, and it is thought that the Merseyside club will not stand in his way if they receive the right offer..
Should he join Lyon, Shaqiri will become the club’s highest earner, following the departure of Memphis Depay to Barcelona.
Shaqiri had a strong campaign for Switzerland during this summer’s Euros.
