Sevilla are still waiting for Chelsea to contact them about a move for defender Jules Koundé
The West London club began negotiations to sign the 22-year old more than fortnight ago, but talks were then put on hold as they concentrated their efforts on getting a deal for Romelu Lukaku in place.
Sevilla do not want to sell Koundé. But, with the club facing various financial pressures, they are prepared to let him go, but are keen to final his departure to minimise disruption ahead of the new season.
The structure of any deal for the player has proved to be a stumbling block so far. Chelsea are believed to be keen on a cash-plus player arrangement, the player being Kurt Zouma. However, he has indicated that he would prefer to stay in the Premier League, whilst Sevilla are only interested in cash.
As far as the Spanish club are concerned, the ball is firmly in Chelsea’s court.
