Romelu Lukaku is prepared to return to Stamford Bridge – seven years after he left there permanently.
That is provided that Chelsea are prepared to meet the £100 m asking price which Inter Milan want for the Belgian striker.
The Blues are reportedly ready to offer Lukaku £250,000 a week to entice him back to West London.
Inter have previously indicated that they wanted to keep Lukaku at all costs, but they have now admitted that he may have to be sold, with the club’s Chinese owners looking to make substantial savings.
Their stance has already seen Antonio Conte, the men who led them to their first Scudetto in a decade, leave the club at the end of last season.
Inter have already turned down an offer of £86 million plus defender Marcos Alonso in part-exchange for the forward, but now made be ready to accept an improved bid.
