Harry Kane does not intend to return to training with Tottenham.
The England striker was due back at the Spurs’ training complex on Monday after completing his post-Euros holiday, but chose to stay way instead as he looks to pursue the transfer he believes he was promised by chairman Daniel Levy in a gentleman’s agreement last summer.
Spurs have already said that they intend to sign him for his “no-show” but the forward intends to continue his stance and has no intention of joining up with his erstwhile teammates.
Battle lines are now being drawn, with Levy describing his behaviour as unprofessional, whilst Kane is believed to have spoken to representatives from Manchester City, the club that is hoping to buy him.
Many Spurs supporters have sympathy with Kane’s position, but, at the same time, others regard the row between player and club as unseemly, and not one that enhances the reputation of either.
