Chelsea have had a bid for former striker Romelu Lukaku turned down.
The West London club offered £86 million plus Marcos Alonso for the Belgian international, but that has been rejected by Inter Milan.
The Champions League winners are in the market for a new striker, and have been previously linked with Erling Haaland, However, with it looking increasingly likely that Borussia Dortmund will not sanction any move for him until next summer at the earliest, they have turned their attention to Lukaku instead, who impressed playing for his country at Euro 2020.
Lukaku has always insisted that his intention is to remain with the Serie A side for the season ahead, whist their CEO Giuseppe Marotta insists that he remains integral to their plans.
However, with Inter in desperate need of funds, Chelsea may be prepared to tempt them with a better offer.
