Chelsea are ready to enter the race to sign young Barcelona star Ilaix Moriba.
The Stamford Bridge clubs are keeping a close eye on what is happening at the Camp Nou where Moriba is about to enter the final year of his current contract.
He has reportedly been offered a new deal, but he has yet to respond positively to the approaches made to him.
The Spanish under-18 international has been told by Barcelona that he will not be able to play for their first-team unless he signs a new deal, a tactic that might misfire with an unnamed club apparently willing to bid for him.
Chelsea can either try and sign him this summer for a modest fee, or remain patient and allow his contract to run down and acquire him for free next year.
Moriba joined the Barcelona academy at La Masia when he was just 9 years old and has played for the club at every age group.
