Ben White is set to complete his medical on Wednesday ahead of his £50 million move from Brighton to Arsenal.
Personal terms between player and club were agreed weeks ago, whilst the paperwork finalising the transfer is now largely completed.
The one thing outstanding was the medical with White on holiday after the Euros, although he did not actually complete any competitive minutes on the pitch during the tournament.
And he could even be in line to make his debut for his new club at the weekend, when they play Chelsea in a pre-season friendly.
White will become the Gunners fourth addition of the transfer window so far. They have signed Nuno Tavares from Benfica, and Albert Longa from Anderlecht, and they were joined over the weekend by 18-year old Mika Biereth who turned down the chance to sign a professional contract with London rivals Fulham.
