Brighton are lining-up a move for Liverpool centre-back Nathan Phillips.
They are in the market for a replacement for Ben White, who they have agreed to sell to Arsenal for £50 million, although that deal has yet to be completed, with the England defender still on his holidays.
He was signed by Liverpool from Bolton Wanderers in 2019, and having spent the following season on loan in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, he found himself called into action by his parent club during the last campaign when injury deprived them of all their first-choice centre-backs.
He wen on to make 20 appearances for them in all competitions, scoring once, but with the injured now back to full fitness and the arrival of Ibrahima Konaté at the club, he founds himself once more down the pecking order and surplus to requirements
