Olivier Giroud is close to agreeing his move to AC Milan.
The 34-year-old signed a contract extension at Stamford Bridge at the end of last season, but that was done by Chelsea in order to protect his value. There was always an understanding on both sides that he would be allowed to move on if the right offer came along.
Now he is expected to sign a two year deal with the Serie A club, although it has not been disclosed what will be the size of the transfer fee.
The French international joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January 2017 for a fee of £18 million, and has gone on to score 39 goals in 119 appearances. During his time in West London, he has helped the Blues win the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the Europa League.
However, he became increasingly marginalised last season following the arrivals of the German duo of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, and made only eight Premier League starts.
