Palace target young Manchester City striker

New Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has wasted no time in getting down to business, and is already active in the transfer market.

The Frenchman has inherited a squad at Selhurst Park with only 17 fit, contracted senior players for the next season, many of them the wrong side of 30.

Now, he wants to bring down the average age of his squad, and has started by opening talks for Manchester City striker Morgan Rogers.

The 18-year old was bought by the Premier League champions from West Bromwich Albion two years ago, and impressed whilst on loan with Lincoln City in League One during the second half of last season.

However, with the prospects of him breaking into the first-team at the Etihad distant, City may now be prepared to sell him. and are looking for a fee of around £7 million, plus the right to insert a “sell-on” clause in any deal.
