Luke Shaw is set to be rewarded for his impressive form with Manchester United and England with a new improved contract.
The 26-year old still has two years left on his current deal, with an option for a further 12 months, which means that United are not under major pressure to act right now.
However, it is intended to begin discussions with him in the coming few months as part of the project of building a team that can mount a credible Premier League challenge.
Last season he played 47 times for United in all competitions, scoring once and providing six assists, and looks a completely different player to the one who struggled to ada0pt when Jose Mourinho was United manager, with the Portuguese doubting his fitness and commitment.
Shaw’s club form helped him earn an England recall after just two international appearances in the past six years, and he has repaid Gareth Southgate’s faith in full during the Euros.
