Jonathan Barnett, the agent of Gareth Bale, has confirmed that there is no option which will allow Spurs to re-sign his client.
Instead, he is set to return to Real Madrid where, entering the fianl year of his contract, he will be hoping to impress new manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has made encouraging noises about all players who were out on loan last season being given their chance. .
Bale has been at the Euros with Wales, but refused to answer questions about his international future after his side were thrashed in the round of 16 by Denmark on Saturday.
The 31-year old spent the last season on loan with former club Spurs after falling out of favour under Ancelotti’s predecessor, Zinedine Zidane.
After a sticky start last campaign he scored league 11 goals for Tottenham, despite only starting 10 times, leading to speculation that he could return for second loan spell.
Barnett though now seems to have dispelled any such suggestions.
