Aston Villa are ready to launch a £40 million bid for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
The 24-yewar old England international has been told that he is not part of Thomas Tuchel’s long-term plans and he is free to lave he club this summer.
Abraham was actually Chelsea’s leading scorer last season with 12 goals in all competitions, but barely featured or them after the German took over from Frank Lampard as manager.
Three years ago, Abraham had a highly success at Villa Park, and it was his goals that helped the side win promotion from the Championship via the play-offs.
Villa have already been active in the transfer market signing Emi Buendia from Norwich and welcoming back Ashley Young from his spell in Italy with Inter Milan.
Now they are ready to move for Abraham quickly, with their manager Dean Smith keen to get of his transfer business done as soon as possible to as to give himself the maximum time to work with his squad during pre-season.
