Arsenal midfielder is a man in demand, even if the Gunners no longer want him.
Marseille have already made a bid to take the French under-21 captain, and he has allegedly agreed personal; terms with them. However, the Gunners were unhappy about the price they were willing to pay, and were considering exercising an option in hs contract to protect his value.
However, according to the Portuguese media, Benfica are ready to step in and gazump Marseille.
The Primeira Liga side are rebuilding their squad this summer, and regard Guendouzi as an ideal player to strengthen their midfield options.
Now they are ready to make a bid of an initial £8.6 million to take the player on loan for the first year, with an automatic option to buy that would bring his fianl price closer to Arsenal’s valuation of the player.
Marseille may have to increase their offer if they want the player now.
