Lazio, now managed by Mauricio Sarri, want to take out of favour Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan next season.
Under the proposed deal, the Italian club would pay half of the Spaniard’s wages.
Kepa, the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, lost his place in the Chelsea first-team to Édouard Mendy, who joined from Rennes last summer, made just seven Premier League starts, and he continues to be best remembered for the number of high profile errors he has made since arriving in West London.
Kepa and Sarri have a history together. When the Italian was in charge at Stamford Bridge, Kepa refused to be substituted during the 2019 Carabao Cap Final in 2019, when Sarri wanted to bring on Willy Caballero, despite the goalkeeper suffering from camp.
Despite that, Sarri is clearly ready to forget the past and is prepared to offer the 26-year old the chance to resurrect his career.
