Jesse Lingard wants to stary at Old Trafford.
The England midfielder has returned to his parent club after a successful loan spell with West Ham.
That saw his form transformed from a United reject to a man forcing his way back into Gareth Southgate’s plans, although he missed the fianl cut for the Euros. His nine goals in 16 games for the Hammers meant that a host of clubs were interested in signing him including West Ham who wanted to make the move permanent.
However, his ambition is to rebuild his United career, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is open to it. Lingard also knows though that with new signings likely to arrive at the club this summer, he is by no means a guaranteed starter and will have to work hard to win back his first team place.
Meanwhile another United, midfielder, Juan Mata faces a dilemma because he has been told that if he wants to stay at United, he is going to have to take a pay cut on his current salary of £170,000 a week.
