Arsenal linked with Wolves midfielder

Arsenal are preparing to bd for Wolves midfielder Rùben Neves.

Midfield is a key area that needs strengthening for the Gunners next season – both Dani Ceballos and Martin Ødegaard have returned to Real Madrid after their loan spells ended, and Granit Xhaka is wanted by Roma.

They had been heavily linked with a move for City’s Emi Benda, but he is about to join Aston Villa instead.

Neves has been at Molineux for four years, but Wolves are ready to let him  go for the right price, and they will be looking for an offer similar to the £41 million that they got from Liverpool for Diego Jota from Liverpool last summer.

Neves has three years left oi his current deal, and is reported to be interest in a switch to the Emirates.

Signed from Porto for what was then a club record fee of £15.8 million in 2017, Neves has made 176 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, scoring 20 times.
