Ole Gunnar Solskjer has promised that Manchester United will be busy in the transfer market this summer.
The Norwegian attended a recruitment meeting following their Europa League Cup final defeat to Villarreal, where the club’s technical chief scout discussed the short list of targets which were identified in January.
That shortlist is widely thought to include Declan Rice, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, but they do not appear to be in the running to sign harry Kane, with Solskjaer consistently ruling out a move for a new striker.
United fans though hopeful of immediate signings may have to wait – with the Euros about to start, the players on their transfer list are all busy with their countries and will not be in a position to discuss any moves until their involvement in the tournament ends.
However, Solskjaer knows that reinforcements are needed and that there is a gap that needs to be closed to teams such as Chelsea and neighbours Manchester City.
