Watford want to boost their attacking options ahead of their return to the Premier League by signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
The 22-year old, who last season broke Alan Shearer’s record of goals for the England under-21 side, has one year left on his current contract at the Emirates.
He made 29 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions last season, scoring 6 times , but barely featured in the second half of the campaign, limited to cameo appearances off the bench.
Arsenal are willing to let him go, but want £15 million for him, with the fact that he is English commanding a premium because of the quota on home-grown players/
Nketiah began his career with Chelsea, but was released from their academy when he was 15, because he was deemed too small.
He spent the first part of the 2019-2020 season on loan at Leeds United but was recalled because he did not get enough games time under Marcelo Bielsa.
