Chelsea want Romelu Lukaku as their main summer signing.
The newly crowned Champions League champions want to boost their striking options ahead of next season when they want to make a sustained title challenge.
And they have identified former striker Lukaku as the ideal man to lead their front line.
Lukaku has just come off the back of a fine season with Inter Milan, helping them win their first Serie A tile in a decade.
But the Chinese company that owns the Italian club have made it clear that there have to be substantial cost savings and that at least €100 million has to be raised from the same of players.
That decision has already seen manager Antonio Conte leave the club and more departures are expected.
