United may still sign a new striker this summer

Manchester United may still sign a new striker this summer, despite agreeing a contract extension with Edinson Cavani.

When news that the 34-year old Uruguayan had been persuaded to sign a new one year deal, it was widely assumed the reinforcements in the forward position had been pushed down the list of summer priorities at Old Trafford.

However, with speculation rife about the future of Harr Kane, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to rule out the club making any moves saying “we’re building towards a better squad” and “we’re still nowhere near where we want to be”.

The news that Kane wants to leave Tottenham, to join a club that challenges for silverware on a regular basis inevitably means tat United, long-term admirers of the England captain, are linked with him.

Solskjaer refused to be drawn, saying that it was disrespectful to talk about the players from other teams, but should Kane become available, United will be in the running, along with neighbours Manchester City and Chelsea.
