Jose Mourinho may be ready to rescue Donny van de Beek from his Old Trafford nightmare.
The Dutch international has struggled to make an impression in England after signing from Ajax last summer in a £40 million move and he is already being linked with an exit from the Premier League club, as he has become frustrated by his lack of first-team involvement.
And it may be former United manager Mourinho who could throw him in lifeline, in his new role as Roam manager.
The Portuguese is not taking over the Serie A club until the end of the season, but already speculation is rife as to who he might bring into turn round the fortunes of the struggling Italian club.
Reports in Italy suggest that Mourinho has already given Roma’s Sporting Director, Tiago Pinto, a wish list of players he wants to bring to the club and that van de Beek is one of the names on it.
