Romelu Lukaku has cooled speculation linking him with a return to former club Chelsea.
On Sunday, Lukaku’s Inter Milan side won their first Scudetto title for a decade, and the Belgian striker hinted afterwards that he is not looking to leave the club in the summer.
Chelsea are in the hunt for a new striker. Both Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud are likely to leave the club this summer, and Timo Werner has done little to justify his expensive price tag so far.
They have been linked with both Lukaku and Erling Haaland, but with Borussia Dortmund demanding £140 million for the Norwegian, Lukaku was regarded as more viable option.
The one thing that could change the picture is Inter’s financial position. They are heavily in debt because of Covid, and their success notwithstanding, they may be forced to raise funds by selling some of their prized assets, with Lukaku, who mas managed 21 league goals for them this season, top of the list.
