Chelsea are ready to compete with Barcelona for the signature of Adrian Rabiot.
The French international is currently with Juventus, but the Serie A side have indicated they are willing to listen to offers of £17 million for him, with Andrea Pirlo’s side in danger of missing out on Champions League qualification this season.
Now they are keen to reduce their wage bill, and Rabiot could be allowed to leave given his sizeable salary.
Thomas Tuchel knows Rabiot well, having .worked with the midfielder for two seasons during their time together at PSG.
Negotiations have already begun with Barcelona, but Chelsea may now offer an alternative destination for him.
Rabiot signed for Juventus in July 2019 on a free transfer, but has never fully established himself with the Serie A side.
He has been capped 14 times by France, and could line-up at Stamford Bridge alongside international teammate N’Golo Kanté.
