Chelsea want to re-sign former striker Romelu Lukaku.
That is after accepting that their number one target Erling Haaland is out of reach, with his current club Borussia Dortmund slapping a £150 million price tag on the Norwegian.
Instead they are ready to offer up to £90 million for Lukaku, who is on the verge of winning the Serie A title with Inter Milan.
Lukaku joined Chelsea from the Anderlecht youth system aa a 16-year old, but made just 15 appearances for them in all competitions before first joining West Bromwich Albion and then Everton on loan.
In 2014, Everton signed him permanently for a club record fee at the time of 2014 and he went on to play for Manchester United as well before moving to Italy.
Now 27, Lukaku has scored 21 goals this season, and has led the line impressively.
Thomas Tuchel; is looking for an upgrade on last summer’s signing Timo Werner who has scored just three goals in his last 33 matches.
