Arsenal have yet to hold talks with defender David Luiz at the Emirates.
The 34-year old is out of contract at the end of the season, but no discussions about an extension have yet been held, with indications that the club will wait until the end of the season to see which competitions they are competing in next season, and what their budget will be.
And, if he is to be offered a new deal, then it is likely to be on reduced terms to what he is currently earning, and he may have to accept less playing time.
Luiz has several options. He has previously expressed his desire to return to Benfica, the club where he started his career in European football. And he is also keen to move into coaching before he retires.
Luiz is back in training after undergoing minor surgery on a knee injury he picked up a month ago.
