Emile Smith-Rowe is in talks over a new Arsenal deal.
The 20-year old still has two years left in his current contract at the Emirates, but the club want to extend that and give him terms fitting his increased status at the club.
He spent the second-half of last season on loan with the Championship club Huddersfield Town, and injury restricted his appearances in the first part of the current campaign. However, following his introduction to Premier League action against Chelsea in Boxing Day, he has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
The England under-21 international has made a total of 27 appearances this season.
Earlier this week, the club announced they have tied teenage striker Folarin Balogun down to a new long-term deal and securing the future of the likes of Smith -Rowe, a boyhood Arsenal fan, Is seen as providing a clear demonstration that there is a pathway to first-team football for talented youngsters in North London.
