Liverpool want £9 million from Porto for the permanent signing of Marko Grujić in the summer.
The 25-year old Serbian midfielder has been on loan to the Portuguese champions this season, and has made 16 appearances for them in all competitions, starting the last four games for them.
Signed by the Merseyside club in 2016 from Red Star Belgrade, Grujić has never been able to establish himself at Anfield, and has made just 16 appearances for them in total, scoring just once.
Instead, he has had a series of loan moves – back to Red Star, to Cardiff City, and then Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
Grujić is under contract to Liverpool until 2023, but would appear to have no future with them and this would appear an opportune time for a parting of the ways.
He has played for the Serbia national team from youth level up and has 16 caps for the senior national side.
