Julian Nagelsmann is Tottenham’s top choice to succeed Jose Mourinho as manager.
Mourinho was dismissed by Spurs on Monday after 17 months in charge of the North London club, and RB Leipzig head coach Nagelsmann is the man they want to take over.
The 33-year-old is aware of the interest in him, but there is a complication, not least in the fact that he is still under contract at the Bundesliga club for two years, and it could cost them up to £10 million to buy him out of that.
And that is without considering the hefty compensation due to Mourinho and his coaching staff, who were also relieved of their duties on Monday, and the salary they will have to pay the German, who is one of the most highly rated coaches in Europe,.
In addition, Nagelsmann could also be wooed by Bayern Munich, with Hans Flick set to quit them at the end of this season.
Ryan Mason will take charge of the team fopr the rest of the season..
