Both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace want to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is on loan at Fulham this season.
The West London club would like to keep him but that is heavily dependent on them staying in the Premier League next season. Their hopes of doing so were dealt a major blow when they conceded a 97th-minute equaliser to Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, and time, and games, are starting to run out for them. Loftus-Cheek came off the bench for them in the second half, but made little impact in the match.
He has three years left on his current contract at Stamford Bridgeman d still hopes he can succeed there, but he does not seem to feature in their long-term plans and they may be willing to listen to offers for a man who was an England squad regular three years ago.
That was before he picked up a serious injury in a post-season friendly for Chelsea that ruled him out of action for almost a year.
