Steve Bruce would love to keep Joe Willock at Newcastle next season.
The 21-yewar old midfielder is on loan at St. James Park for the rest of the season, and proved his worth to his temporary employers by coming off the bench to head the goal that enabled them to beat West Ham United on Saturday.
That win lifted Newcastle to 15th in the table and they are now edging closer to Premier League survival.
It was Willock’s second goal for Newcastle – he also snatched the late equaliser that enabled them to draw with Spurs two weeks ago.
Bruce said “He is the type of player you’d love to build your club around. Whether we can or not I’m not quite sure.’
Willock is under contract at the Emirates until 2023, and he is one of the players the Gunners have to make a decision about this summer.
