Tottenham are among a clutch of clubs, including PSG and Inter Milan, who are interested in signing full-back Emerson from Barcelona this summer.
The Spanish club are desperate to reduce their wage bill and are looking to off0-load a number of players when the transfer window opens again, One of the men earmarked for sake is 2-year old Emerson and a price tag of around £21 million has been slapped on him.
Emerson plays currently for Real Betis, but Barcelona own 50% of him, and reports in Spain claim that they have the right to purchase another 30% of the player from Betis if they so wish.
Betis would like to keep him but, like Barcelona, they are short of funds and cannot afford to keep him permanently.
Tottenham are in the market for a new right-back this summer, with Jose Mourinho having lost faith in both Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty, who only joined the club last year, in recent months.
